How to Get Divinity in Destiny 2: A Detailed Guide
One of the most frequently searched questions regarding Destiny 2 is how to get Divinity, and rightfully so. The Divinity Exotic Trace Rifle is a powerful weapon. Here is how you get it.
What Is the Divinity Exotic Trace Rifle?
The Divinity Exotic Trace Rifle is an incredibly unique weapon and has been highly prized by all players ever since its introduction to Destiny 2 (D2). Its most valuable ability is its Exotic perk, which envelops the target in a field that weakens and stuns them. This does a lot of damage against [Disruption] Overload Champions.
Acquiring Divinity in D2 requires the completion of a multistage, multifaceted quest, which includes the Garden of Salvation Raid.
How To Get the Divinity Exotic Trace Rifle in D2
Step 1: Start the Quest on the Moon
The first step is to go to the Moon via the Sorrow’s Harbor Landing Zone. Go to the Lunar Battleground area, then keep going through the battlegrounds until you reach a more open area. Head left, following the wall, and you’ll eventually see a small gap leading into a cave.
Inside is a Vex Gate. Walk up to it and wait for Vex to spawn. Defeat the waves until a giant Minotaur boss spawns. Once you’ve killed it, it will drop an Exotic engram—pick it up to activate the Divine Fragmentation quest.
Step 2: Decrypt the Quest Item on Nessus
For the second step, head to Nessus and scan the Vex Cores in three hidden rooms in three different Lost Sectors:
- The Orrery
The entrance is in the side of the mountain. In the main room, climb up to where the Hobgoblins are firing from on the left platform. Keep climbing until you reach the third floor.
Look for a little alcove. Inside it, you’ll find the Vex Core—scan it, kill the enemies that spawn, then scan it again.
- The Conflux
Head inside and keep to your right. You have to jump up the wall to get into the hidden room.
Turn the corner, and you’ll see the Vex Core right in front of you. Go through the same process as in the Orrery.
- The Ancient’s Haunt
Play through this Lost Sector as normal until you see a cave to your left.
You can see the Vex Core in the cave from the outside. Repeat the same process as in the other two areas.
Step 3: Charge the Quest Item on the Moon
The third step involves the defragmentation of the Vex Cores. You need 120 Sol Divisive Parts to repair the Decryption Core and thus 120 Vex kills. Based on our own experience, there’s two ways to do this:
- The entrance to the Garden of Salvation Raid features three Vex waves, and you can keep booting up the raid and running this cave entrance repeatedly.
- Alternatively, you can jump into the Vex Offensive and start killing Vex.
Next, go to Eris Morn and use the Lectern of Enchantment to create an Empowered Decryption Core, which costs 30 Phantasmal Fragments. You can buy Phantasmal Fragments from the Lectern with five Helium Filaments (which you can farm via Nightmare Hunt activities on the Moon).
Farming is exactly the kind of boring task where a boosting service can prove to be a godsend to circumvent that dull, repetitive part of the game.
Step 4: Finish the Quest in the Garden of Salvation Raid
The fourth and final step is not just the most challenging; it’s also the most tedious, namely, the infamous Garden of Salvation divinity puzzles. This step consists of seven laser puzzles:
- The first puzzle is located just before the first encounter. As you go up the stairs there are two holes, one to your left, and one to your right. Down each hole there is a room with a tether box.You need to connect the two boxes via the laser beams that ignite once you shoot/activate a box. The laser chain goes from one room to another via the tethered players (who must maintain line of sight from one player to the next).
- The second puzzle can be found after the first encounter. Look for the pink tree in the flower field. There is a hole next to it that leads down into the puzzle room. All six members need to similarly create a laser chain across a maze of tunnels all the way outside where the tether box is located.
- The third divinity puzzle is on a branch in the jumping section to your right. The tether box is hidden under a leaf.Once you activate the box, a series of orange nodes will appear. These also need to be linked via a laser chain from player to player.
- After the Harpy boss in the third encounter has been defeated, a tether box will spawn in one of the alleyways below a ledge.Activate it and again create a laser chain through the nodes. The sixth guardian then needs to walk over to the first person in the sequence to activate a loop. Travel as a group and match the pattern displayed.
- This is the same box as the previous one and is in the same location. All 6 guardians need to create another loop and go down one of the corridors toward the exit.
- The sixth puzzle is near the ceiling of the waterfall cave, right before the final raid boss.Jump up on all the ledges until the receiver is found. Create a laser chain with the tether box through the six guardians.
- The final divinity puzzle is also in the cave, specifically in the room at the back of the waterfall. There are six glowing nodes in this room. The players need to create a laser chain without creating a loop. Five players must line up on the plates in any sequence, so long as the sixth player tethers the receiver to the tether box. This will activate the blue nodes beneath the tether box and receiver. They will project a sequence in which all players will need to switch their place to manifest a particular pattern. This has to be repeated 7 times.
You must complete all the divinity puzzles in one raid run to unlock Divinity. It is extremely complex and requires perfect coordination between the six team members. If that sounds too challenging for you and you’d rather get another player to do it for you, have a look at Skycoach reviews to find out about the trustworthiness and impeccable record of a service that uses only top-of-the-line, professional boosters.
Once you’ve completed them, go through the raid. In the final room, there should be two chests, one containing standard raid loot and one containing the Divinity Exotic Trace Rifle.
Conclusion
The Destiny 2 divinity puzzles are extremely challenging, require a full fireteam to complete, and add at least one extra hour on top of the Garden of Salvation raid, resulting in three to five hours of total raid time.
Players who don’t have the time; cannot assemble a full, six-man fireteam; or just don’t want to go through seven puzzles can just use Destiny 2 Boosting to acquire Divinity without any effort.
